About Z. D. Pasillas and the Cobalt Miracle
The Story Behind Cobalt Miracle

“We could finally fight for life beyond mere survival. How powerful, strength amplified through profound suffering.”
Z. D. Pasillas: Educator, Author, and Advocate
Z. D. Pasillas is an author, educator, and advocate for emotional resilience. His passion for teaching, bringing abstract concepts to life is a foundation of his writing, with the purpose of enriching dialogue around recovery and neurodivergence.
An alumnus of UC Berkeley and UCLA with a Master’s in Education, Pasillas has worked with thousands of high school students, patients, and inmates for over twenty years, supporting their healing through education and mentorship.
When he’s not teaching—or writing, Pasillas enjoys exploring the Sierra Nevada with his dog Rogue, scuba diving, and traveling abroad. He also leads the Green Parrot Writers Group, a writing collective in South East L.A. County, dedicated to uplifting BIPOC and neurodivergent voices like his.
In his debut novel Cobalt Miracle: The Realm of Safanad, he blends mythology and neuroscience, exploring deep human truths around emotions and the brain. In his next book in the series, The Art of War on Suffering, the journey continues, using storytelling and neuromythos to illuminate a path toward healing.

How Teaching Became a Lifeline

“No longer bound by trauma, nor the echoes that lasted into adulthood.”
